BIOGRAPHY
Jennifer Perry has been teaching Ballet and Theatre for over 36 years, continuing a rich family tradition in the performing arts. She began her training at The Ballet School under the guidance of her grandmother, the legendary Lareen Fender, and also studies with the Joffrey Ballet in New York as well as with the renowned David Howard at his New York City studio. Jennifer treasures the opportunities she had traveling with her grandmother to study master teachers across the country, including Maggie Black, Robert Denver, Richard England, and Robert Joffrey.

Her passion for dance naturally grew into a love for theatre. Jennifer has been recognized with multiple Shellie Awards and Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards for her direction, choreography, and performances in musical theatre. She has also been honored by the Arts Endowment Foundation for her contributions to the arts. In 2017, she was named one of Diablo Magazine’s “40 Under 40 to Watch,” and in 2019 she was featured again by the magazine as a “Dedicated Dynamic Woman.”

Jennifer is a teacher, director, choreographer, producer, and casting director. She is a proud member of the Fantasy Forum Actors Ensemble, where she also serves as producer and performer. She co-directs the Musical Theatre Program at the Summer Performing Arts Conservatory (SPAC), one of the Bay Area’s premier summer training programs at The Ballet School Performing Arts. For sixteen years, she was the Casting Director for Center REP, the resident professional theatre company of the Lesher Center for the Arts. Today, she continues to produce Fantasy Forum Actors Ensemble, now celebrating its 55th season, while also serving on its board. Beyond the stage, she is Vice President of the Walnut Creek Downtown Business Association.

Above all, Jennifer is deeply grateful for her family. She is happily married to her husband, Vince, and proud mom to her daughters, Grace and Sadie. Coming from a family devoted to dance, music, and theatre, Jennifer’s life and work are driven by a philosophy she holds close: Live. Joy. Create. Hope.
